We walked to Warren Park with Mrs Ward's and Miss Yardley's classes to play in the Autumn leaves. We made huge piles of leaves and jumped on them, threw leaves in the air, and built nests and pretended we were birds. What great fun!
We have seven new children in our class who have come from Room 16. Welcome Samara, Jaden, Zeb, George, Kahnye, Marley and Quinn. We are so lucky to have such good workers come into our class.
For the last three weeks of Term One we were very lucky to have Miss Gannaway in our room. She is learning to be a teacher and this was her first practicum. We loved having her in our class, especially when she read stories to us and helped us with our work. We hope you look on our blog Miss Gannaway to see all the exciting things we will be doing in Term Two.
Team One went to Ohiwa Harbour for the day. We had lots of fun finding crabs and other sea life. Then we walked to the wharf, had a picnic lunch and a swim.
On February 21st it was Mrs Clayton's birthday. She made a huge birthday cake to share with us. We put the candles on (there were lots and lots) then helped her to blow them out. We all had a piece of cake - YUM!
We have a lovely new library at our school. It is big, colourful and has hundreds of exciting books in it. We love visiting it every Friday, sitting on bean bags, looking at books with our friends, and choosing books to take home and share with our families. Some of us even go there at lunchtime.
We are a Year One class at Apanui School in Whakatane, New Zealand. Our teacher is Mrs Clayton. This is our first year at school and we are all five years old. We started the year with eleven children, but now have eighteen children in our class. We hope you enjoy looking at our Blog and seeing all the exciting thing we do. We hope you leave a comment to let us know you have enjoyed sharing our experiences.
